Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 29, 2026
In short: MAAR QR has no server, no accounts and no database. Everything you type or upload to generate a QR code is processed entirely inside your own browser and is never transmitted anywhere. We don't collect it, see it, or have any way to access it.
1. Information we don't collect
MAAR QR does not have a backend server, and we do not collect, receive, transmit or have access to:
- The content you enter to generate a QR code — URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, contact details, messages, event details, or crypto addresses
- Any logo image you upload to embed in a code
- Personal identifying information such as your name, email address, or IP address — we don't run analytics or accounts that would capture this
- Payment or billing information — the tool is free and doesn't use a payment processor
2. What's processed on your device
When you use the generator, your browser does all of the following locally, using JavaScript that ships with this page:
- Encodes the text or data you enter into a QR code matrix
- Renders that matrix onto an HTML canvas, and generates SVG or PDF versions of it on request
- If you upload a logo, reads that file from your device and draws it onto the code
None of this is sent over the network at any point. You can verify this yourself with your browser's network inspector open: no request fires when you type, customize, or download a QR code.
3. Local storage
MAAR QR uses your browser's localStorage — storage built into your browser, not a server-side database — to remember two things, only on the device you're using:
- Your light/dark theme preference
- Up to 12 recent QR codes, if you choose to save them to History
This data never leaves your browser. It isn't synced, backed up, or accessible to us in any way. You can clear it at any time with the "Clear history" button on the History section of the generator, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
4. Cookies
MAAR QR does not set or use any cookies — no session cookies, no tracking cookies, and no third-party advertising cookies.
5. Third-party services
We keep external dependencies to a minimum, and self-host what we reasonably can:
- QR encoding and PDF export are handled by open-source libraries bundled directly with this site (
qrcode-generatorandjsPDF). They run entirely in your browser and don't make network requests. - Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com/fonts.gstatic.com). Loading these files causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers, which — like any web request — includes your IP address and basic request metadata. That request is governed by Google's own privacy policy; we don't control or receive that data ourselves. - Hosting for this site is provided by GitHub Pages. As with any web host, GitHub may log standard server access data (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) as part of operating its infrastructure, under GitHub's own privacy statement. We don't have access to those logs and don't use them for tracking.
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or behavior-tracking services of our own.
6. Children's privacy
MAAR QR is not directed at children, and because we don't collect information from any user — of any age — there is nothing collected from a child using this tool either. If you have concerns about a child's use of this site, note that no content or personal data is retained by us regardless of who uses it.
7. Data security
Because no personal or generated content is transmitted to or stored on any server we control, there's no central database of user content that could be breached. The small amount of data saved locally (your history and theme preference) is protected only by your own browser and device's security. We'd recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date, and using private/incognito browsing on a shared or public computer if you'd prefer nothing to be saved locally at all.
8. Your choices
You have full control over the limited local data this tool creates:
- Clear your saved QR history at any time with the "Clear history" button
- Clear your theme preference and history together by clearing this site's data in your browser settings
- Use private/incognito browsing so nothing is saved once you close the tab
- Block third-party font requests via your browser or an extension — the site will fall back to system fonts and continue to work normally
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future feature introduces a new third-party service — we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Since MAAR QR doesn't have accounts or collect email addresses, we have no way to notify anyone individually, so please check back here from time to time if you'd like to stay informed.
10. Contact
MAAR QR is an independently built project. Questions, concerns, or reports relating to this policy or the product can be raised via the project's GitHub repository: github.com/20RajonAdil/MAAR-QR.
